Reading Comprehension Question Board - Lower Primary Group Reading Activity

The Reading Comprehension Question Board is an interactive and engaging activity designed for young learners (Lower Primary). In this group reading activity, students work together to read a selected passage, answer questions related to the text, and discuss their answers with peers. The aim is to improve their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and teamwork skills in a fun and collaborative environment.

How it works:

Group Reading: Students take turns reading aloud from a passage, helping each other with difficult words or phrases.
Question Board: After reading, a set of comprehension questions is posted on the board or handed out. These questions will be related to the passage they’ve just read and will test their understanding, recall, and interpretation of the text.
Discussion: In groups, students work together to answer the questions. They discuss their reasoning and come to a consensus on the best answer.
Sharing Answers: Each group shares their answers with the class, explaining how they arrived at their conclusions.
Objectives:

Enhance reading comprehension skills by answering a variety of question types (e.g., factual, inferential, and opinion-based questions).
Foster cooperative learning and group collaboration.
Encourage active listening and discussion of ideas.
Help students make connections between the text and their own experiences or knowledge.
This activity is an excellent way to build confidence in reading and comprehension while promoting positive social interactions in the classroom.
